Hmmmmh, I wish I could help you, but I noticed many of these blue corn varieties don't have hardiness zones marked. Perhaps you'd do well with baby jade in a protected area? It's worth a try. Good luck… Teresa

You wouldn't happen to know one that can be grown handily in Zone 3 would you? So far the only one I can see that *might* do well is the baby jade

I don't use peat pots any longer, after reading about the ecological impact. There is more about that topic in my seed sprouting post from April 2009. Thanks for bring that up. Teresa

Kim and Victoria: I'm so glad you're trying Blue Jade corn. Let's see if it really is as prolific as they say… All the best, Teresa

You're so inspiring. We're also trying the Blue Jade corn this year for the first time and I plan on putting it in containers out front.

If so, I encourage you to stop using them…Google them and I'm sure you'll find loads of articles about why they are such a problem in the garden–and not ecologically sound. But…maybe you're using "cow pots" or something similar?? I love making my seedling pots from newspapers.

That's one of the nice things about growing vegetables from seeds…all this great selection. Best, Teresa

And I enjoyed the Easter Egg Radishes I grew last year too.

You have great taste in vegetables. Will have to try Orca beans soon. I'll let you know about carrot rust fly. I'm growing a lot of carrots this year, but didn't have any problems last year. It really helps to rotate crops, and not grow the same plants in the same places each year, as you probably know already.

Thanks for stopping by… Teresa

I have a few fav heirlooms that work very well in the flower garden they are so darn pretty.

Particularly the Fairy Tale Eggplants (much the same colours as the Dragon Tongue beans), Easter Egg Radish (in pink, blue, purple and white), and Orca beans (black and white spotted like a killer whale!)

Love your choices too. How do you fair with the carrots? I struggle with carrot rust fly on my coloured carrots esp. white.
